Bael (b. 1983, North East UK) is an artist whose work has evolved from stark, figurative drawings to a refined minimalist aesthetic that continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Known for his distinctive use of black and white, Bael’s work spans a wide range of formats, from intimate pieces on wood to expansive large-scale canvases. His exploration of urban environments, everyday objects, and abstract representations of light and shadow is informed by a nocturnal, almost noir sensibility, which invites the viewer to immerse themselves in his thought-provoking compositions.
Drawing from an eclectic mix of influences—including post-punk aesthetic, illustration, graphic design, and photography—Bael’s work offers a visual language that is open to rich interpretation. His distinctive style and conceptual depth have earned him a dedicated following, with collectors around the world.
Bael has exhibited in solo and group shows across major cities, including London, Berlin, and Los Angeles. His work has garnered features in esteemed publications such as L.A. Weekly, Art of England, and Juxtapoz. As his practice continues to evolve, Bael continues to push his visual style forward while maintaining a strong connection to his roots in figurative drawing and minimalist design.
